What to Expect at Our Animal Hospital
Bowman Animal Hospital and Cat Clinic is a special place for pets and the people who love them. We go above and beyond to meet and exceed all of your needs. When you visit us, we want you to feel like you’re coming home. Below, we've outlined what to expect at your appointment.
Comfort for Cats, Dogs, and You!
The moment you walk into our lobby, you’ll notice a split. One side is for our feline friends, and one is for our canine companions. Separating cats and dogs helps to ease their stress. Cats are notoriously wary of unfamiliar animals and many dogs will get a bit riled up at the sight of a cat, too. We avoid this confrontation altogether and make sure both cats and dogs are comfortable in their own space. And we know that comfort for your pet means comfort for you, too! Complimentary refreshments and snacks are also available for you and your pet.
Personalized Care at Every Level
Whether your pet is in for a routine check-up or a major surgery, we take time to get to know you and them, so we can tailor our care appropriately. Your visit starts with a check-in with our client service representative and moves on to a veterinary technician who asks you questions about your pet’s health, history, and any changes you’ve seen at home. Then, it’s time to see the doctor! The veterinarian will examine your pet from nose to tail, taking note of their:
- Ears
- Eyes
- Mouth
- Lymph nodes
- Muscles
- Abdomen
- Skin
- Heart
- Lungs
The Royal Treatment
Your veterinarian will perform a thorough physical exam and create a treatment plan. At that time, your veterinary technician may need to take your pet to our treatment area to collect any samples such as fecal or blood samples for diagnostic testing. We can also perform a nail trim or other special care treatments such as laser therapy, just ask. During any treatment time, you can rest assured your pet is receiving loving care with plenty of pats, hugs, and treats, too!
Checking In With You
After we treat your pet, we’ll return them happy and healthy and review their physical exam findings with you. We'll also generate a treatment plan if needed. This is also the time to ask any questions you may have! We’re happy to help!
Checking Out
When you’re ready to check out, one of our receptionists will go over the services provided and you’ll have an opportunity to schedule your next appointment. You can also take the time to peruse our shopping area for any last-minute buys. And don’t forget to take a complimentary treat home for your pet, too!
Following Up
A few days after your visit, we’ll call to check in and make sure your pet is doing well. We know that you may have some questions about your pet's treatment and we want to give you a chance to get those answered!
