Pet Grief Support with WeePaws
WeePaws Pet Loss and Grief Support hosts regular meetings on the first Thursday of every month (unless otherwise noted) that are open to the public and free to attend. Sally Bailey, MPS, started the group because she wanted to help those suffering from pet loss and grief. Our veterinarian, Dr. Koehler, will be heading up the program, along with a committee of staff members. Each meeting focuses on the difficulty of losing your best friend as well as heart-wrenching decisions that sometimes come with their care. Whether you’ve just lost a pet or are considering euthanasia for a suffering companion, WeePaws can help. Our animal hospital is proud to be the only one in the Triangle to offer the unique service of pet grief support to both our clients and the community, too. WeePaws is not only a group of grieving pet owners ready to share their stories; a licensed clinical psychologist leads each meeting. Jehanne Gheith, MSW, LCSW, PhD is trained to help you through your unique grieving process. During a pet grief support session, you can expect only warmth, kindness and encouragement. You will meet like-minded individuals who are all dealing with loss or difficult end-of-life decisions. Stop by once or every month! You are always welcome.
Support the Moment You Need It
If you’re a client of ours, and you’ve recently lost a pet, you may have heard from WeePaws already. Sally Bailey, MPS, and her team of counselors regularly reach out to people who have lost a pet to check-in and tell you more about WeePaws and how it might be able to help you.
